Meet Mandy Hansen's Baby, Sailor!

DEADLIEST CATCH star Mandy Hansen gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on November 10th at 8:24 pm, making Captain Sig Hansen a grandfather once again. Sailor Marie Pederson was 21.5 inches long and weighed exactly 8 lbs at birth.

Mandy and her husband Clark Pederson are full of joy to be Sailor's parents. Mandy shares how becoming Sailor's mother has changed her, and explains the "incredible feeling:"

"Bringing a child into this world is the most incredible feeling. Every way you think changes the moment you hold your baby and you instantly know nothing is more important than protecting their life. It took a long week in the hospital but we can finally introduce Sailor Marie to our world."

She also shares the very special reason they named their daughter Sailor. Not only does it reflect their heritage, but it also makes sense that the DEADLIEST CATCH star named her daughter something related to the sea.

"We wanted something that reflects our family’s Scandinavian heritage as well as our lifestyle and profession. With my husband and I both working on the Bering Sea of Alaska as commercial crab fishermen, naming our daughter Sailor Marie is a perfect fit."

She also wanted to share some inspirational advice for the viewers!

"We would love the readers to know that even when life doesn’t go as planned you have to keep pushing and continuously work towards your goal, whatever that may be because when it happens the reward is that much sweeter!"
